Import excel to GAUSS 3.2.37

Hi,

I'm about to run the code by importing excel file, unfortunately the file is too large and switches me back to the (much) older version that I have, which is 3.2.37. Does anyone know how to import excel file to this old version? or Should I do normal command (load data[ , ]= .... ).

I am not sure I understand your question. It sounds like you are saying that you have a large Excel file that you cannot load into some version of GAUSS, so you think it will work better to load it into GAUSS version 3.2.37. Is this what you are saying, or am I not understanding your question? Also, how large is the Excel file?

- Correct! I currently have the light version which doesn't support such large scale of excel file. However my professor shared with me his full version but very old one 3.2.37, I don't know how to load the excel file to this version.  Could you please suggest how to import excel file to this old version?

A couple of things to consider: First you should contact Aptech to see if you could qualify for the "GAUSS in the Classroom program". Second, there was a function called import in some of the older versions of GAUSS that could read Excel files. I don't know if it was in your version yet or not. If that was not available, then I might try converting the file in Excel to CSV and then using the load command.
